A Remodel Sneak Peek

Reimagining Outdoor Living: A Sneak Peek into an Exciting Remodel

We are thrilled to present to you our latest in-progress residential landscape design build project.  This 100 year old cottage set on 1.3 acres of tree studded hillside in the heart of Fairfax is getting a full refresh!

Finished pictures are always fun to share but with this special project, we saw an opportunity to give you an insider peek into what it takes to get the inspiring designs we create built from the ground up with some in-progress construction photos.

The existing grounds of this property were underutilized for the spectacular outdoor opportunities that were available to embrace. Our design team conceptualized a plan that not only integrated the charming views to Mt. Tam and reprioritized sunny locations for the main outdoor living spaces, but overcame the property's unique challenges posed by topography and existing structures.

Locating a new pool with adjacent ADU close to the main residence was a key idea to maximizing the use of the property. Furthermore, we enhanced the overall living experience by seamlessly integrating indoor and outdoor spaces. This was achieved through the installation of folding doors off a spacious downhill deck, complemented by a captivating fire feature and a luxurious built-in spa, all contributing to a picturesque setting perfect for enjoying the serene surroundings.

With careful planning and innovative solutions, the design addressed the task of an old, failing pool by introducing a groundbreaking solution utilizing light structural foam blocks instead of traditional heavy gravel fill. This not only rectified structural concerns but also facilitated a transformative redesign for an entertaining bocce court area and heritage Olive tree plantings.

Sustainability was also at the forefront of our approach, with features like PV solar panels, hybrid pool heaters, and energy-efficient technologies. This project stands as a testament to the power of collaboration, creativity, and forward-thinking solutions in crafting landscapes that transcend expectations and minimize environmental impact.

We're excited to continue sharing our journey with you and exploring new possibilities together.

Warm Regards,
Brett McPherson
